The Gadget Show

I just happened to watch the first episode of the Gadget Show on channel Five tonight. My interest was sparked by the promise of a review of the new Macbook Air. The segment was actually a comparison shootout between the Mac, a Sony Vaio, and the Asus Eee pc. Talk about biased, the eee didn’t stand much of a chance against 2 machines priced well over the £1000 mark. The Vaio won, just. But at almost £1400 (my eee pc was £200) what did you expect? On a lighter note, a friend tells me that Leica UK were approached to take a trade stand at the up coming “Gadget Show” at the NEC. Apparently Leica declined “We don’t make gadgets” was the tart reply.
