Do ever think to yourself that you are caught up in spiral of upgrades. Newer is always better, faster, stronger……….. If you have read my previous posts you know that from time to time I just like to go back to an old gadget for fun. I often trawl eBay for something a bit different or just something I missed out on first time around. The Palm IIIc is one of those oldies I missed, somewhere between the Handspring Visor and Palm Vx. Still, £5 pounds found me the proud owner of a very clean and almost new IIIc, leather case and charger.
No, it doesn’t have bluetooth or wifi, this thing doesn’t even have any extra storage space (8mb is yer lot) But it does have a colour screen and a quite zippy Dragonball processor. I can infrared to my phone and collect email. Bejewelled is on there alongside splashID and eReader so I’m happy. It is still supported by Palm too. It is also fun reading contemporary reviews too, remember being wowed by the first colour screen Palm? The Gadgeteer does.
As they say, a change is often as good as a rest.
