Yes, you may remember that yesterday I was whingeing about not having a zoom on the Ricoh GR Digital and how that lack was “stifleing my creativity maaaaan!” (that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it!) Anyway, I had to buy a loaf of bread this morning so I popped into my local Sainsburys. They have a selection of cameras on offer including the Panasonic Lumix FX10. My other half said that the spec was very close to the Leica C-LUX 2 (well it is basically a Panasonic too) so for £80 I grabbed it.
By good fortune, the battery in the FX10 is the same as the Leica D-LUX 3 and the Ricoh GR. I didn’t have to wait to charge the battery and within 5 minutes of getting home I was outside in the garden trying to find something photographic for a quick test. I found some pink thing flowering and a very obliging bumble bee. Just shot on auto everything and anti-shake (essential with my jitters) I think they came out OK. The camera itself is tiny compared to the Ricoh so it will live in my handbag. A good buy then.

Picture taken with a Samsung Solid Phone (more on that in a later post)- the Ricoh battery was in the Lumix – D’oh!!
