Our Eldest is about to turn 17. Now, to him, nothing at all is more important than learning to to drive. It has become an obsession. The house is littered with car magazines and practical theory books. I have tried to show enthusiasm by taking him down an old empty car park and letting him loose behind the wheel. “See it’s not as easy as you think!” I bite my tongue as he stalls, for the umpteenth time. He’s a quick learner though, I think he will soon have the knack. But after the successful driving test, comes the thorny problem of which parent loses their car for evenings out? I bet it won’t be my other half – just a hunch……..
